An intricate and exquisite zardozi bag, hand made in India and acquired by the previous owner circa 1930-1940. Black cotton velvet is enhanced with a detailed stitching of light silver coloured thread, mixed with accents of gold thread creating a sunflower pattern with dashes and wheat like shapes surrounding the sunflower. A top handle made from gold and silver thread is attached to each side - worn and frayed. To the back is a decorated strap that allows this bag to be worn flat against the hand on at the wrist. A pre-owned bag in fair to good condition, handmade in India. The bag has lost the firmness of a new Zardozi but there are no holes and few pulls to the thread. |
